How to Keep the Shine: Care Tips

With the right care, your jewellery will continue to glow — softly, naturally, and beautifully. Here’s how to care for it, so it stays as radiant as the day you first wore it.

Daily Care

Avoid wearing in the shower or bath
Water, soap, and body wash can accelerate oxidation and may contain sulphur, which causes silver to tarnish or darken over time.

Keep away from cosmetics & hair products
Perfume, hairspray, skincare, and styling products often contain ingredients that can dull the shine or speed up oxidation. Apply your jewellery after everything else.

Avoid harsh chemicals
Do not wear your jewellery while swimming (especially in seawater or hot springs) or when using cleaning products such as bleach or vinegar.

Store in a sealed bag when not worn
Exposure to air and humidity is the main cause of tarnishing. We recommend storing silver jewellery in an airtight pouch or ziplock bag to reduce contact with air and sulphur in the environment.

How to Restore Shine

If your silver jewellery starts to darken due to natural oxidation:

  • Use a silver polishing cloth to gently wipe the surface.
These cloths are pre-treated with silver-cleaning agents, do not wash them, and they can be reused many times.

Avoid over-polishing and rubbing too hard, especially on delicate or plated areas.

Why Does Silver Tarnish?

Silver is a reactive metal. Over time, it naturally combines with sulphur in the air, sweat, or certain products, creating a dark layer known as silver sulphide.
Tarnishing may also vary by individual — some people’s skin chemistry speeds it up, while others experience minimal change.
